Farmingdale, NY Parks, Trails & Outdoor Recreation
Farmingdale has a major outdoor destination right nearby: Bethpage State Park. Add a walk through the Village, smaller neighborhood green spaces and bike routes, and there's a lot to explore without driving deep into eastern Long Island.
I'm John Cordeira, Broker/Owner of Cordeira Homes. Being active outdoors is part of my routine, and that's why local parks and trails are an important piece of my #RippedRealtor community guides.
Bethpage State Park - 99 Quaker Meeting House Road
Bethpage State Park has five golf courses - including the famous Black Course - plus biking, hiking, equestrian trails, tennis, playgrounds, picnic areas, winter recreation and other facilities. The park hosted the 2025 Ryder Cup and remains a major Long Island golf destination.
Golf at Bethpage
The Black, Red, Blue, Green and Yellow courses each offer different golf experiences. Check New York State Parks for 2026 tee time, seasonal opening and access information. Not every facility follows the same schedule or fee structure.
Trails and the Bethpage Bikeway
The official park trail map identifies the Bethpage Bikeway, marked park trails and connecting routes. Hikers and cyclists should check signs for allowed uses, take care at trail crossings and confirm current conditions.
Farmingdale Village Green and Neighborhood Parks
The incorporated Village includes smaller civic and recreational spaces, including Village Green, North Side Park and the Main Street-Melville Road Park, as listed in its municipal code. The Village Green hosts community events in some seasons. For events, posted hours and rules, consult Farmingdale Village.
Beyond the Village
There are recreational facilities in adjacent South Farmingdale and the wider Town of Oyster Bay. Confirm municipal jurisdiction, facility rules and eligibility when considering pools, playgrounds or sports facilities associated with special districts.
