Garrison Parks & Outdoor Recreation

« Garrison Real Estate & Local Guide

Garrison's outdoor character includes wildlife conservation, historic grounds, Hudson River scenery and access to strenuous regional mountain trails.

Constitution Marsh Audubon Center & Sanctuary

Constitution Marsh protects tidal wetland and bird habitat. Its trail includes steep or rocky sections and leads toward a boardwalk. The sanctuary does not permit dogs except qualifying service animals.

Parking Is Not Casual Walk-In Parking

The Audubon center explicitly warns there is no general on-site parking, and roadside parking along Warren Landing or Indian Brook Roads is prohibited. Check official parking and access procedures before visiting.

Boscobel House and Gardens

Boscobel is at 1601 Route 9D and offers historic gardens, Hudson River views and woodland trails; admission and visiting rules apply.

Garrison's Landing & Riverfront

The historic Landing Association maintains parts of the district's riverfront setting. Respect private property, marina boundaries and event access restrictions when exploring.

Bear Mountain & the Hudson Highlands

The Bear Mountain Bridge connects this east-bank community to parkland on the west side. My own 7.1-mile loop near Bear Mountain involved a significant climb and rough rocky descent.
