Bethpage is a Nassau County hamlet in the Town of Oyster Bay, best known for its established residential streets, Broadway business district, Long Island Rail Road station, aerospace history and connection to the recreation at Bethpage State Park. ZIP code 11714 includes areas that do not all share the same school district or neighborhood boundaries.
I'm John Cordeira, Broker/Owner of Cordeira Homes. For more than 20 years, I've helped buyers and sellers throughout Long Island. I built this guide to make Bethpage easier to understand, whether you're researching a move, checking your home's value or looking for a great place to spend an afternoon.

Bethpage has a distinct central Nassau County rhythm. Broadway is a recognizable local main street with restaurants, storefronts and neighborhood businesses. Stewart Avenue connects the train-station area with other parts of town, while Hempstead Turnpike provides a larger shopping and service corridor. Step away from those roads and you'll find blocks of single-family homes with different ages, layouts, lot sizes and levels of renovation.
Ranches, Capes, split-levels, high-ranches and Colonials all appear in the local housing mix. A house near the station can offer a different day-to-day experience from one near the Bethpage–Farmingdale border or the eastern part of ZIP code 11714. That's why I look at the actual address, not just the name of the town.
Bethpage is distinct from Old Bethpage, the neighboring community to the north. The similar names can be confusing when searching for homes, parks and schools, so pay attention to the property's municipality, postal address and school-district assignment.
The Bethpage LIRR station is on the Ronkonkoma Branch. It provides rail access toward Jamaica and New York City, as well as points farther east. Check the MTA for current schedules, transfer requirements, accessibility information and train-station parking rules; service patterns can change.
Residents commonly use Broadway, Stewart Avenue, Hempstead Turnpike (NY 24), Hicksville Road and North Wantagh Avenue. The Seaford–Oyster Bay Expressway (NY 135), Northern State Parkway and Long Island Expressway connect the broader area to other Nassau and Suffolk destinations. Actual travel times vary considerably by time of day.
Bethpage State Park is famous for its five public golf courses, especially the Black Course, which hosted the 2002 and 2009 U.S. Opens, the 2019 PGA Championship and the 2025 Ryder Cup. The park also offers paths for walking and biking, picnic facilities, playing fields and other seasonal recreation. Despite its Bethpage name, the main park address is 99 Quaker Meeting House Road, Farmingdale, NY 11735.
The paved Bethpage Parkway Shared Use Path links Bethpage State Park to the Massapequa Preserve area. Wooded trails and the wider Nassau–Suffolk Greenbelt network also connect outdoor destinations across the region. For the exact route and trail conditions, start with the official state park trail map.
Bethpage Community Park has been affected by environmental investigation and remediation associated with former Grumman operations. Some areas have been closed, and facility access has changed during the cleanup. Before planning a visit to a particular field, skate area, playground, pool or rink, confirm current availability with the Town of Oyster Bay Parks Department. For the environmental project itself, see the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation updates.

The former Grumman and U.S. Navy aircraft-production facilities shaped a major chapter of Bethpage's history and Long Island's aerospace industry. That industrial legacy is also part of the area's environmental history. Residents and prospective buyers can review official NYSDEC project information for site-specific facts and updates rather than making assumptions about individual properties.
The Bethpage Public Library, at 47 Powell Avenue, provides collections, events and educational programming. It's a useful starting point for finding community activities throughout the year.
Downtown Broadway is one of Bethpage's most recognizable local shopping and dining areas. Nearby commercial stretches along Hempstead Turnpike, Stewart Avenue and North Wantagh Avenue offer additional restaurants, fitness studios, services and everyday shopping.
Two Broadway dining options are B.K. Sweeney's Parkside Tavern at 356 Broadway and Campagne House at 339 Broadway. The shopping and dining guide below includes more specific stops, street addresses and direct business links.

The Bethpage Union Free School District includes Central Boulevard Elementary School, Charles Campagne School, Kramer Lane Elementary School, John F. Kennedy Middle School and Bethpage Senior High School, as listed by the New York State Education Department.
Let's compare properties with the details that actually matter: layout, condition, legal improvements, exact school district, commuting needs and the surrounding streets. I'm an independent broker, and you'll work directly with me.
Search Bethpage HomesYour home's value is affected by much more than the townwide average. Street location, lot size, improvements, property condition, comparable sales and current competition all help determine a realistic price range.
How Bethpage Home Values Are Determined »
See the Bethpage Market ReportThe right listing strategy depends on the house, not just the ZIP code. A renovated Colonial, a classic ranch needing updates and a larger home with an unusual layout each require a different pricing and presentation approach. I handle market analysis, preparation guidance, professional marketing, buyer feedback, negotiation and the steps leading to closing.
