Island Trees School District: Levittown Homes & Local Guide
Island Trees is its own Union Free School District serving part of Levittown, Nassau County. It is different from the Levittown School District, even though many homes in both have Levittown, NY mailing addresses.
Schools in the Island Trees District
The district operates J. Fred Sparke School, Michael F. Stokes School, Island Trees Memorial Middle School and Island Trees High School. Its administration is at 74 Farmedge Road. Current grade configuration, calendars and enrollment details are available at Island Trees UFSD.
The History Behind the Name
Before William Levitt developed the planned community, "Island Trees" was already a local name. The Levittown Public Library history collection explains the former farming communities of Jerusalem and Island Trees and the postwar expansion. The district name is a piece of that earlier history still visible today.

What Buyers Should Compare
Homes here range from modified midcentury construction to substantial remodels and newer replacement houses. Check additions, roofline changes, building permits, lot size, garage conversions, condition of heating and cooling, and the actual legally recognized living area. Similar asking prices can conceal very different buildings.
For sellers, a home valuation should consider the closest genuinely comparable sales and the individual property, not simply every home sold in Levittown.
