Nassau County's Cantiague Park on West John Street adds what a gym can't. It has an indoor ice rink for skating and hockey, a seasonal pool, a nine-hole golf course and lighted driving range, plus courts and fields.
For longer outdoor miles, the paved Bethpage Bikeway through Trail View State Park is a short drive east.
